1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk).

Service data: Jobs, customers, equipment records, quotes, invoices, and photos you create within the app are stored to provide the Service.

Device data: Some data (jobs, inventory, reference lookups) is stored locally on your device using IndexedDB for offline functionality.

Payment information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or banking details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To process diagnostic scans and generate quotes
  • To sync your data across devices when you are online
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send service-related communications (account updates, outage notices)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers necessary to operate ColdSnap:

  • Supabase: Cloud database for storing your account and service data
  • Clerk: Authentication and account management
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Anthropic: Processing diagnostic scans, voice reports, and quote generation

Photos and text submitted for diagnostics are sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train models per their API terms.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your data from our servers within 30 days. Locally stored data on your device can be cleared through your browser settings.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Update your account information at any time through the app

7. Cookies and Local Storage

ColdSnap uses cookies for authentication (Clerk session management) and localStorage/IndexedDB for offline functionality and user preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
